Mission Hill Bike Racks

Through a statewide competition, AFH's sculpture studio was awarded the opportunity to designing multiple-unit bike racks to be installed on Mission Hill. After a yearlong investigation and a thoroughly vetted design process, sculpture apprentices presented ten designs to Mission Hill Main Streets and the Boston Public Art Commission. The models were highly received and three will be produced and installed around Mission Hill in the spring of '10. Designs are creative and playful, including an oversized bicycle, an up-side-down car 'playing dead', an oversized padlock, and a polar bear. AFH hopes to further market the bike-racks in Boston and beyond.
